Gazprom, BASF discuss gas production coop, Nord Stream-2
ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom and Germany’s BASF have discussed cooperation in gas production and the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline project at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Gazprom said on Thursday.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to cooperation in the sphere of hydrocarbon production in Russia – at the Urengoiskoye and Yuzhno-Russkoye fields.
“In particular, it was noted that since the start of operations of the Yuzhno-Russkoye field, natural gas production amounted to around 276 billion cubic meters, including 900 million cubic meters of hard-to-recover Turonian gas. A pilot commercial development of the Turonian gas deposit (the only project in Russia) is currently being successfully conducted at the field. The start of commercial development is scheduled for the end of 2019,” Gazprom said.
“The sides have also discussed the process and prospects of Russian gas supplies to Germany and implementation of the Nord Stream-2 project.”
